Cool Mountain Breezes on the Greenway in Cullowhee, NC.

Bridge located @ 342 Old Cullowhee Rd. Locust Creek Access on the Tuckaseigee River.


OVERVIEW: Managed by Jackson County Parks and Recreation (JCPR), "The Greenway" is a paved walkway along the Tuckaseigee River in Cullowhee, NC. 342 Old Cullowhee Rd. Parking, and toilets are available at each trail head. This is a spot for a relaxing walk or run along the river. The cool air coming off the dam released river water is amazing when it's warm out!. Plenty of benches and a handful of picnic tables for chilling out with a friend. In the middle of this one mile trail is a cool little pump track for kids practicing mountain biking.


SAFETY TIPS:

  • This is a 911 area with decent cell service throughout.

  • The walkway is not lit for evening travel.

  • Lots of different kinds of users here. Kids learn to ride bikes and roller blade here.

  • Swim at your own risk.

  • Life Jackets are provided by JCPR on limited basis.

  • Gotta plan to pick up dog poop here if you walk your canine.

  • This is not a place for overnight camping.
